The fastest way to launch the Task Manager is to use the keyboard and press the keys Ctrl + Shift + Escape simultaneously.

2. Keyboard Shortcut - Ctrl + Alt + Del Followed by a Click or Tap

Probably the most well known way of opening the Task Manager is by pressing Ctrl + Alt + Del on your keyboard. This takes you to the lock screen, where you will find different shortcuts.

3. Keyboard Shortcut - Win + X Followed by a Click or Tap

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 have a hidden menu with useful shortcuts. This menu also includes a shortcut to the Task Manager.

Press Win + X on your keyboard and then select Task Manager. Another way is to use the mouse or your finger, if you have a device with touch.
In Windows 8, move the pointer to the bottom-left corner of the Desktop. A Start thumbnail is displayed. Right click on it (or press and hold) to open this menu.
In Windows 8.1, right-click or press and hold the Start button, so that the menu is displayed.

4. Search on the Start Screen

While on the Start screen, type the word task and Windows searches for the appropriate apps.

In Windows 8.1, the search is done the same. Only the results are displayed differently.

5. Use its Shortcut in All Apps

Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 have an All Apps view, similar to All Programs in Windows 7’s Start Menu.

To open this list in Windows 8, go to the Start screen and swipe from the bottom or right click somewhere on the empty space available. Then, click or tap All Apps.

Scroll to the Windows System folder.
